Keel
Keel bulb is made of lead, fin is milled stainless steel with flange, and fixed to hull with stainle
Construction notes
Rudder is made of carbon fibre and epoxy resin over high density foam(GRP with foam core), is connected to a large composite quadrant by vectran cables with spectra lashings, and steered with dual wheels. Rudder shaft is carbon fibre. Emergency tiller is included with the complete safety compliment.
Hull & Deck
Built new in 1994 by McConaghy Boats of Sydney, Australia. Builder’s Hull Number 62. Hull is dark blue and deck is white. Deck has smooth painted areas around fittings and white non-skid in open areas and cockpit. Hull exterior is in excellent condition having been repainted with Awl Grip by New England Boatworks 2004. Deck was repainted with Awl Grip by New England Boatworks in 2005. Hull is constructed using high strength to weight ratio carbon fibre, Kevlar, and epoxy resin with PVC foam core. Deck construction is similar to hull construction. Deck is bonded to hull with adhesives and fiberglass laminates. Bulkheads and grid stringers provide internal support. Hull bottom, keel, and rudder are painted with Durapoxy. The hull is stiff and has been professionally maintained.
